A Very Vegan Birthday

Spending birthdays on tour can suck, you’re in a far away city with no friends, family, or restaurants you like. Last year we were in LA and I spent my birthday in a skanky superficial night club getting drunk while girls flashed us their boobs and made out for our cameras against our wishes. I also got a beautiful and gigantic vegan birthday cake from Melissa that was supposed to feed 12 which I ate 11/12 portions of literally. It was amazing.

This year we were once again in California, but this time in San Francisco playing at the API Wellness Center’s annual Gala which was a ton of fun and raised awareness and money for an organization that works tirelessly for the API community. We also played an awesome show to raise scholarship money for APIQWTC the Asian Pacific Islander Queer Women and Transgender Community of San Francisco in a really cool space run by queer people of color called Velvet.

Now back to me. This year I got to spend my birthday with my aunt, uncle, and my two ridiculously adorable cousins and my most favorite person ever Melissa. Who did not fail this year to get a cake even more gluttonous that last year. Seriously, i could feel the fat form on my testosterone enhanced belly just by looking at it. OMG, it was the world’s most perfect ice cream cake. all ice cream and no cake. Imagine a gigantic cake made of solid vegan ice cream on a bed of oreo crumbs, and covered in frosting. Plus there were 2 kinds of ice cream, oreo, and mint chocolate- yum! This year though I didn’t eat the whole thing, but I did eat at least 4 servings and if we didn’t have a flight out the next night, I would have finished it.

So I’m leaving you with some pictures of the whole affair, please note these are not from last year. I just happen to be wearing the same shirt.
