Our impression of the purple state of Iowa is that there isn’t much there besides Drake University and corn. Their airport is small, no restaurants serve food after 10, and at rush hour, there is barely any traffic on the four lane roads. Yet, below the surface, there seems to be a bit more.

afterHours Performance at Northeastern

Talk about a great way to kick off a fall tour. I just want to take a moment to really reflect on the performance that we did at Northeastern University on Tuesday as part of their Pride Week. It’s pretty amazing when I see the Asian-American organizations on campus really reaching out to the queer community and wanting to pitch in and make the event about sharing cultures and supporting each other.

Good Asian Drivers in Hyphen!

It’s quite an honor to be in the current Road Trip issue of Hyphen Magazine, an Asian-American arts, culture, and political publication based in San Francisco. In May, Kit had the pleasure of having a phone interview with the talented Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, a queer Sri Lankan writer, spoken word artist, and arts educator.
